Dear
readers. I want to share you the letter I received from my Republican
state senator that Social Security will become insolvent in the year
2033, - 8 years from this date. Rest assured, the evil, malevolent
Elon Musk, Donald Trump who is owned by Musk, and the Republican
Congress, have worked hard to screw American’s out of their Social
Security. They have succeeded.
I
have decided to redact my name, the senator, and my state for one
reason – these folks are vindictive. Donald Trump was overheard on
a hot mic saying, “He wants to put home grown Americans into
concentration camps in El Salvador. In other words, people he don’t
like or speak out against him. This white nationalist movement is also
sanctioned and endorse by the wealthiest Americans in our country.
Don’t kid yourself, race first - money second.
What
is really sobering here, is I guarantee that this will happen very
soon, forget about 2033. This sabotage will likely come before the
end of this year I suspect. Suffice it to say I bet every Republican
senator has the same template. I am actually surprised I even got a
response. Carefully, consider the bull in the letter, and the
contrived plot they have conceived. MAGA nuts will consider it to be
true because, and I don’t have another way to say this – they are
stupid.
Without
further adieu:
Dear Mrs. Despised,
Thank you for contacting me about Social Security and Medicare. It is an honor to serve as your Representative for the 3rd Congressional District of the great state of Alcatrez. I am thankful for this opportunity to hear from you.
On March 4, 2025, President Trump gave a joint address to Congress where he pledged to eliminate the “tax on social security benefits for our great seniors.” For President Trump’s pledge to become reality, Congress must work to reform Social Security as, due to decades of government mismanagement, Social Security and Medicare are facing serious funding issues and will soon be insolvent. According to the annual report released in May 2024, the Social Security trust fund will be insolvent by 2033, and the Medicare Hospital Insurance (HI) trust fund will become insolvent by 2036.
To put this into perspective, “Social Security’s retirement trust fund will reach insolvency when today’s 58-year-olds reach the normal retirement age,” causing “all beneficiaries [to] face a 21 percent across-the-board benefit cut.” Additionally, the Medicare HI trust fund will expire “when today’s 53-year-olds are eligible for the program,” leading to an eleven-to-thirteen percent cut in benefits to hospitals and service providers under Medicare Part A.
These reductions in benefits will be because the number of people paying into Social Security and Medicare are not enough to support those receiving benefits. In the 1930s, when Social Security was implemented, 150 people worked to support one person on Social Security. Today, this number has dropped to only six people working to support one retiree, largely because the generations following the Baby Boom are defined by a decreasing birth rate.
If the nation wishes to avoid the natural path toward insolvency the declining birth rate has caused, Congress must seriously consider ways to reform and improve Social Security and Medicare. For this reason, I support the creation of a Greenspan-style commission to consider which policy reforms are needed to ensure Social Security and Medicare’s longevity. This commission would be modeled after the 1983 template that provided the latest solution to solving the issue of insolvency.
As your Representative, I remain committed to gathering suggestions from constituents in Alcatrez’s 3rd Congressional District on reforming Social Security and Medicare and ensuring their long-term integrity. I also look forward to working with the Trump Administration to “make [Social Security] more efficient,” as President Trump has committed to not reducing benefits. Other actions I have taken related to Social Security and Medicare include supporting:
-H.R. 2863, the Preventing Hospital Overbilling of Medicare Act, which prevents needless overbilling of Medicare by hospitals, ensuring beneficiary care is not compromised and
- H.R. 5342, the Equal Treatment of Public Servants Act, which reevaluates the benefit distribution of Social Security’s windfall elimination provision that offsets Social Security benefits for individuals who also receive state or local pensions.
Thank you again for contacting me about Social Security and Medicare. If you would like to discuss this issue further with a member of my staff, please call my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 225 - 2701.
